Homegrown National Park® and Pootatuck Watershed Preservation
April 29, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
A public kick-off meeting will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 1 pm, at the Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West St., Newtown.
This event will feature two speakers,
- Lisa Turoczi, owner of Earth Tones native plant nursery,
- Peter Picone, DEEP biologist,
plus much information designed to educate and inspire. To underscore the importance of native plantings, 50 native trees will be given away.
Homegrown National Park® is a new and exciting grassroots approach to conservation that starts in your own yard as envisioned by entomologist and author Doug Tallamy. Through the small actions of many people, we can help Newtown become a greener, healthier, and more sustainable place to live. Join us for a celebration of spring and a positive message for the future of our planet.
