DESCRIPTION:An abbreviated Fall Book Donation Day is set for Sunday\, October 19 —rain or shine—from noon to 2 pm at the Blue Building\, the Friends’ temporary donation site at 17 Old Farm Road in Newtown (next to the Dog Park). The Friends have shifted donation operations to this location because of HVAC work underway at the Booth Library. \nJust like previous Donation Days held at the Library\, donors can drive up to the front of the Blue Building where volunteers will help unload their vehicles and provide tax receipts. To expedite your drop-off\, please pack your items to be donated in bags or boxes you don’t need returned. \nVisit boothbooksale.org to read our donation guidelines. DESCRIPTION:The Newtown Lions Club is having a Model Train Show Event to benefit Childhood Cancer Research onThis event is fun for all ages from 1 to 101. Come see what Model Railroading is all about. Learning clinics for all ages of modelers. Win a Lego Model Railroad along with other door prizes. \nAlso added to this year’s event will be a Halloween Costume Parade during the 2025 Train Show. The parade will be a fun festive event for children ages 12 and under to show off their costumes\, participate in a community celebration\, and have a chance to win prizes! All participants will leave with a goodie bag. Come join us for a great day with a nostalgic look back in time at our railroads with this exciting Model Railroad exhibition. \nSunday\, October 26\n10 am to 2:30 pm\nNewtown Community Center\n8 Simpson St. in Newtown. \nAdmission is $10 for adults\, children – $5\, under 9 are free and families (three or more) – $25.
